As the event is open to cars of all ages, in an attempt to negate the advantage of using a modern car, cars will be handicapped according to their age.
The handicap will be in the form of a number of points allocated at the start, the theory being that the older the car the fewer checkpoint answers will be required to achieve the maximum score (60 points).
A car manufactured between 1951 and 1960 will start off with 10 points, as a result they will only need correct answers at 25 checkpoints to achieve the maximum.
The maximum score is 60 points, older cars will gain no benefit from visiting ‘extra’ checkpoints.
To qualify for the main award the crew must be in a car manufactured before 1991.
